Fitness Professional and Dressage Specialist
SSD is the home and workplace of Dressage Equestrienne, Tanase Peckham. Tanase is jointly responsible, along with Deb Peckham, for the day to day care of all the horses and has extensive equine experience. Tanase has ridden since the age of two and has dedicated herself to her chosen discipline – Dressage. From the age of 14 Tanase trained regularly with Rozzie Ryan and for three years with Harry Boldt during his NSW sojourns. Australian horsemen, Steve Brady and Adam Sutton (horse trainer: Man From Snowy River set) have also had an influence on her interaction with horses. Training to the level of GP/Inter 2 and riding competitively to Intermediarre 1, during her riding career Tanase has been a member of both State and National Young Dressage Rider Squads and has been selected to Australian Young Rider representative teams on a number of occasions In 2004, an 8 month stint in Germany provided further valuable training, initially with the classical instructor and former Dutch National Dressage Coach, Rick Klaassen who had trained with George Theodorescu and then later under the guidance of Marion Wilimzig (trained by Reiner Klimke) and Mathirs Vatter (trained by Klaus Balkenhol) at Gut Romerhof in Dusseldorf. Again in 2008/09 Tanase ventured to the Netherlands to spend valuable time with Coby and Marlies van Baalen www.dressuurstalvanbaalen.nl/ She then moved to Vechta, Germany to spend time at www.hengsthaltung-kathmann.de The tradition rich Kathmann Station, a private stallion station with one of the oldest traditions in Germany, provides many services for breeders, starting with insemination to raising young horses all the way to training and preparation for stallion licensing. In Australia, Tanase has also spent time at Christine Doan’s establishment in Cairns assisting with the training and preparation of horses for auction. Tanase currently trains with Clemens Dierks, former Australian National dressage coach and attends regular Australian clinics with Stefan Wolff (Klaus Balkenhol protégé). Evolving from Tanase’s equestrian pursuits came a love of health and fitness to the extent that she decided to study and pursue a career oriented towards fitness and the equestrian. A fit and healthy body plays a major role in everyone’s life and for this reason Tanase aspires to assist people in getting their bodies back on track! Improving health and fitness will improve the overall outlook on life. Tanase specializes in the equestrian field, focusing on goal setting and improving: posture, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, core stability and muscle maintenance. She assists riders in all equestrian fields, whether they are a competition rider, jockey or pleasure riding.
